The Prototype

Before starting a complete custom pinball machine from scratch I believe it is important to try all the pieces (LED Driver, Switch processor, Dot Matrix Displays, Sound, etc) together in a prototype machine.

Thanks to Craig’s List (and $50) I found a pinball cabinet and playfield that I am going to use as a prototype.¬† There¬†was no backbox and no circuit boards (which is obviously fine as that is the major purpose of this project).

The machine is a 1976 Bally Fireball home machine.
